MARIST COLLEGE BLACK STUDENT-ATHLETE ALLIANCE (BSAA)
Mission Statement
The Black Student-Athlete Alliance at Marist was created in 2020 to serve minority student-athletes in both varsity and club sports. This organization is dedicated to creating an uplifting community and giving a voice to black and brown student-athletes. As an organization, BSAA plans to focus on taking steps to change school policies, connect with the community, and create a sense of family among the minority student-athletes.
In the future, BSAA plans to host town hall meetings for all Marist student-athletes, bring in speakers to discuss varying topics, organize fundraisers, and create a strong and united presence on campus. BSAA wants to change the culture at Marist and create a more welcoming environment for current and future Red Foxes. BSAA's goal is to have an impact that goes beyond just the Marist Athletic Department and aid in Marist College becoming a more inclusive and diverse college.
